Vox Hunt: Song from my childhood

Comments

What a wonderful story! As we didn't have electricity when I was a "little kid" music was homemade in our house.
I'm so curious. Did any of your family play a musical instrument? Did you all sing songs or something like that? I think we're all so dependent on electricity to provide some sort of entertainment (music, TV, etc)...although, when I was a kid we all spent a huge amount of time playing outside - in the summer, at least - no electricity required :)
My father played the mouth organ and piano accordion (sort of daggy - but he was very good). We all (4 kids) learnt the piano, one sister also learnt the guitar and I had a fling with the clarinet. We used to put on little concerts - we took it in turns to perform though we all sang along to dad's playing. My mother had learnt the piano when she was younger and still had her upright piano which is what we all learnt on. My father played totally by ear and my brother had a little of that talent also. I couldn't play anything without music infront of me and my mother had forgotten how to read/play by the time we came along.

I have a lot of fond memories of those years. We also used to play cards and board games as a family. We got electricity when I was 10 but we didn't get a television until I was 13 - then everything changed!
