Trip Report
I just returned back to Bangkok from a wonderful two week visit to the US. My husband and I went to visit his family in San Antonio, TX and then I went to Louisiana to visit my siblings. I had my camera with me, but unfortunately, rarely remembered to take it with me.
While in S.A., I got to meet a couple of my husband's high-school friends which was kinda cool. One had a unique grill so I took a photo with my phone. It's very "Texan".
After 5 days in Texas, I flew to N.E. Louisiana to visit my siblings. We had a great time and ate a lot of fantastic food, that did not include rice even once. We spent the weekend at my sister and B-I-L's camp (camp = weekend home. Not sure what this is called in other parts of the US) on Lake D'arbonne. Beautiful, but hot. We spent the time just relaxing, reading and listening to each others' music. There may have been some good wine involved in there, too.
My last day in Louisiana, I spend with my oldest friend. We've been friends since we were 3 years old. We spent the day talking and went to our hometown and drove by our childhood homes. I thought I might be upset when I saw the house, but it was fine.
Austin, TX was the next stop. I stayed with a friend and we did a bit of shopping and general driving around Austin. It's amazing how much it has grown since I lived there. We went to Waterloo Records and I bought eight CDs (mostly used). I had many more, but I had other things to buy so I had to limit it somewhat. If I could, I'd live at Waterloo.
Sadly, the visit had to end. I wish I had about 2 more weeks to spend with my friends and family. The trip back to BKK was exhausting - 29 hours that included a 6 hr lay-over in L.A. I finished reading 3 books (small ones). Today will be spent unpacking and catching up on various things. Tomorrow, I will be back at work and fighting the jet lag.

My oldest friend is one from Kindergarten - it's wonderful to have such long-lasting relationships even from a distance.
Welcome back! Sounds like you had a nice trip. Oh, I love Waterloo -- that is one of the best record stores I've ever been to. (I love that Clem Snide CD, too!)
That is an incredibly long flight. Best wishes with the jet lag.
